  • The 10th Annual Children’s Fair takes place 10 AM to 2 PM at the Cpl Terry L. Smith Gymnasium. Open to Department of Defense families, the fair features an obstacle course, bounce house, photo booths, games, and activities, including balloon artists. Held to celebrate Month of the Military Child, the event features opportunities to win prizes and offers goody bags and giveaways. Children’s book authors will greet patrons and sign copies from 11 AM – 1 PM. Books will be available for sale. Numerous sponsors will be on hand, including those with assistance dogs.   • The annual American Summer BBQ Expo, featuring Weber grills, takes place 11 AM to 3 PM on the lawn in front of the MCX. Patrons can meet grilling experts as well as taste grilled foods, gourmet sauces, and beer. Authorized patrons can purchase Weber grills and accessories for 15 percent off; gourmet food is 20% off. Enjoy deejay music, enter drawings for a chance to win door prizes, and purchase lunch, which will be sold by Jeremiah’s Kansas City Style BBQ, a winner at the 24th National Capital Barbecue Batter military chef’s cook-off.
