UPFRP Training

Those interested in being a part of the Unit, Personal & Family Readiness Program (UPFRP) and volunteering for their unit can do so in three different capacities:

  • Command Team Advisor: Provide family insight regarding UPFRP and family well being through advocacy and support of their unit’s program and through mentorship.
  • Family Readiness Assistant: Supports and assists the Family Readiness Officer (FRO) through administrative tasks and information and referral services.
  • General Volunteer: Assists in planning, coordination, and execution of unit training events, unit Family Readiness events and morale support events

OSD Training Series: Instructor Training Course

Presentation skills are critical to success! Effective instructors must know how to successfully deliver their information. Attend the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Instructor Training Course to learn and practice skills needed to become a successful and effective instructor. Whether you are a seasoned instructor, rarely or have never given instruction, this course was developed by OSD Core Trainers specifically to fill the instructor’s ‘skill box’ by examining the importance of instructors being proficient on the platform and making a good impression. You will also learn the five main categories of skills, which all instructors need if they are going to deliver dynamic instruction. You must attend both sessions to receive your OSD Instructor Training Course Certificate of Completion.

OSD Trainer Series: Facilitator Training Course

OSD Trainer Series: Facilitator Training Course

Facilitation skills are a developed art! There is a distinct difference between instruction and facilitation. Attend the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Facilitator Training Course to learn the definition of facilitation and the characteristics and qualities that make a facilitator effective and productive. Participants will be provided an opportunity to assess their personal facilitation skills as well as learn how to conduct a successful facilitation session. This course was developed by OSD Core Trainers specifically to help participants identify important group characteristics, techniques and strategies to incorporate into the facilitation session, and barriers that impact the group’s process. You must attend both sessions to receive your OSD Instructor Training Course Certificate of Completion.
